The Eye Clinic of Texas is proud to offer to our patients the latest advancement in cataract surgery. Utilizing the new AcrySof® ReSTOR® lens, we can help most of our patients achieve glasses-free vision for both near and distance over 80% of the time.

The ReSTOR® lens is an Intraocular Lens (IOL) that uses a combination of three complementary technologies to foster a full-range of high-quality vision in patients. By distributing the appropriate amounts of light to near and distant focal points, regardless of the lighting situation, the lens improves image quality. As a result, 80 percent of cataract patients, with or without presbyopia, gain the ability to see clearly without the aid of glasses or bi-focals.

Recognizing how this new technology can treat both cataracts (a Medicare-covered procedure) and presbyopia (a non-covered procedure) in one sitting, Medicare recently made a concession and will now cover the cost of the conventional cataract surgery, leaving only payment of the ReSTOR® lens upgrade to the patient.
